A Bible Bible Timeline Poster Gives A Graphic Mode To Aid And Help Teach Bible Events And Characters And Truths
In a Bible group some years ago, somebody, who had been a Christian and worked in the Church for many years, said,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they were not talking about the pre-mosaic law) I wonder how many Christians will actually pick up the error in this statement. Moses lived about five hundred years after Abraham and so it is impossible. I have since then put together a Bible timeline banner and shown graphically the time period of individuals and occasions.
Why is it that we get stuck in a rut of our pet themes and sugar coated preaching?
We preach on a text from Ezra and a passage about Joseph and Mary and a theme from the book of Isaiah and then the obedience of Noah or the faith of Noah - parts from here and all over, but we do not put it all at once in an evident understandable, easy to remember, perspective with a good Bible TimeLine and Church History as well. Constantly we're bombarded with new books, modernist ideas, a number of them hazardously leaning toward Progressive doctrine, when if we could be coached the fundamental principles of Church history, we then wouldn't be so bound to repeat it.
Let's us as tutors and preachers sew together the aspects of God's Word and His plan into a seamless tapestry that our people are able to draw on for the rest of life, to help them to figure out God, His Eternal Plan, the role of the Church and how to better interpret the Bible to order our lives by.
It is not hard to do, and it is not boring if we're prepared to put in a bit of study with prayer and fervor, and just perhaps you can make use of a Bible Timeline too.
