A Bible Timeline Chart Gives A Graphic Representation To Help Teach Bible Characters And Events And Facts

Unfortunately, a large number of Pastors and teachers in our churches continue to preach superficial, flimsy, shallow, light weight messages and their Church members hardly grow in Bible knowledge. Preachers love to give us'moral essays' and'warming affirmations' because supposedly, if we love our people this is what we'll do. Unfortunate it seems, if God's people are falling through the cracks'for a lack of knowledge' as long as we are nice and loving to all. In reality, the more relevant we become to this world, the less relevant we are to this world.
Some years ago, I was preaching on the burial, resurrection, life and death of Jesus Christ, and a retired pastor and strong preacher of Scripture, who had been in the ministry for 40 years, marched up and reproved me vigorously over some fascinating points I made and he referred to 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I quietly asked him if I had been teaching anything of a heretical nature at all, to which he said"No". I continued to explain that in the case of that particular Scripture, it wasn't speaking to examining the Bible but to the false teachings and school of thought of Gnosticism, but he wouldn't have it. So, how can a 40 year minister & worker in the Gospel, not understand and know about something that possibly half the books of the New Testament relate to?
How can he understand and preach the Bible clearly without knowing about something that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to comprehend these things and be able to interpret their Bible effectively, if they are not informed?
Let's us as instructors and preachers stitch together the fragments of the Bible and God's plan into a logical whole that our people are able to draw on for the remainder of life, helping them to comprehend God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and ways to better translate the Bible to order our lives by.
It's not difficult to do, and it's not boring if we are prepared to put in a bit of effort prayer and fervor, and just possibly you can utilize a Bible Timeline as well.
