A Bible Timeline Banner Presents A Graphic Representation To Help Teach Bible Events And Truths

In our weekly Bible study some years ago, a friend who had been a Christian and worked in the Church for years, said,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they were not referring to the pre-Moses law) I wonder just how many Christians will actually pick up the error in this claim. Moses lived 500 years after Abraham and so it is an impossibility. I have since then compiled a Biblical chronology chart and explained visually the chronology of men and women and events.

Some years ago, I was speaking on the death, burial, resurrection and life of Christ Jesus, and a retired minister and powerful preacher of the Bible, who had been a pastor for 40 years, came to me and reproved me smartly over some interesting points I made and he noted 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I quietly asked him if I was teaching anything of a heretical nature in any way, to which he said"No". I continued to explain that in the case of that particular verse, it wasn't speaking to examining Scripture but to the false teachings and school of thought of the Gnostics, but he would not have it. So, how can a 40 year preacher & laborer in the Gospel, not know and understand about a thing that possibly half the books of the New Testament relate to?
How can he study and teach the Bible clearly without being familiar with a thing that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to comprehend these things and be in a position to understand their Bible properly, if they're not informed?
Let's us as teachers and preachers sew together the fragments of the Bible and God's plan into a seamless tapestry that our people can draw on for the rest of their lives, helping them to comprehend God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and ways to better translate the Bible to order our lives by.
It's not difficult to do, and it's not boring if we're prepared to put in a bit of study and prayer and fervor, and just perhaps you can employ a Bible Timeline also.
